VITEEE 2013 Eligibility, Application, Schedule, Pattern and Important Dates

About VIT

VIT University, established under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act, 1956, was founded in 1984 as a self-financing Institution called the Vellore Engineering College. The Union Ministry of Human Resource Development conferred University status on Vellore Engineering college in 2001. The University, has two Campuses. To accommodate the growing demand for quality education, VIT University now boasts of two campuses, the main campus at Vellore and a new campus at Chennai.

Eligibility Conditions

1. Nationality:
The applicant for admission should be a Resident / Non Resident Indian National.

2. Qualifying Examination:
Candidates appearing for the VITEEE-2013 should have either completed or shall be appearing in 2013, in any one of the following qualifying examinations:

  • The final examination of the 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the State Board; Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi); The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE, New Delhi).
  • Intermediate or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.
  • High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
  • General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London / Cambridge / Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) Level.

Candidates who have studied in Regular, Full time and Formal Education are alone eligible to apply.

3. Eligibility Criteria in the Qualifying Examination:
Candidates appearing for the VITEEE in 2013 should have secured an aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).

The average marks obtained in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB) in +2 (or its equivalent) put together should be 50% for the following categories:

  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST category
  • Candidates hailing from Jammu and Kashmir and the North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.
  • Candidates who have attempted Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the VITEEE are eligible for all the 14 B.Tech. Degree Programmes.
  • Candidates who have attempted Physics, Chemistry and Biology in the VITEEE are eligible only for B.Tech. Bioinformatics, Bio-Medical Engineering and Biotechnology programmes.

4. Age Limit:
Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 1991 are eligible to apply for VITEEE-2013. The date of birth as recorded in the High School / SSC / X Certificate /Birth proof certificate will be considered authentic.

VITEEE 2013 Application Form

  • From the Post Offices mentioned in the Brochure or for Rs. 950/-.
  • VITEEE 2013 Application Form can also be purchased ‘in person’ from the VIT Vellore and Chennai Campus by submitting a DD of Rs.950/- drawn in favor of VIT University payable at Vellore.
  • The candidates can send a covering letter addressed to “Admissions Officer” VIT University, Vellore-632014 and DD of Rs. 950/- with their names, address and contact number on its backside requesting for the VITEEE 2013 Application Form. The form will be sent via post to such candidates.
  • VITEEE 2013 Application Form can also be filled ONLINE for Rs. 900/-. The online forms will be available on the official website of VITEEE 2013

VITEEE 2013 Schedule, Pattern & Language

  • VIT Engineering Entrance Examination – Computer Based Test (CBT) will be held from 15th April to 30th April 2013
  • The duration of the entrance examination will be 2 hours 30 minutes.

    VITEEE 2013 Question Paper: All Questions will be of OBJECTIVE TYPE

  • PART-I – Physics / PART-II – Chemistry / PART-III – Mathematics or Biology
  • Candidates attempting Parts-Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics are eligible for all the 14 B.Tech. programmes
  • Candidates attempting Parts-Physics, Chemistry & Biology are eligible for B.Tech. Bioinformatics, Bio-Medical Engineering and Biotechnology programmes only.
  • The selection of pattern (Physics/ Chemistry /Mathematics or Biology) has to be decided at the time of slot booking (March 2013).
  • All the questions will be mostly from the State Board of Higher Secondary Education and the CBSE syllabus only.
  • The syllabus for the Entrance Examination is given in APPENDIX-IV of Information Brochure.
  • Each part has 40 questions and each question carries one mark.
  • Each question is followed by 4 alternative answers. The candidate will have to choose the correct answer and click the same.
  • No negative marks for wrong answers.

The Question paper will be only in English.

The Application Form filling procedure is as follows:

  • The candidates have to fill the form with Black Ball Point Pen in CAPITAL LETTERS only.
  • However, the shading of Numerals/Alphabets/Circles has to be done with HB pencil.
  • Candidates can go through the attached sample VITEEE 2013 Application Form prior to filing the actual form so as to avoid errors.
  • After completing the application forms candidates should VERIFY all the details carefully as there is no provision for change of information in VITEEE 2013 Application Form.
  • Before mailing the completely filled application form, candidates should check that they have pasted the right type of photograph, signed the form and have got signatures of their parents on the declaration in the form.
  • The Brochure has the list of various documents that have to be attached with the VITEEE 2013 Application Form.
  • Application Forms incomplete in any form will be rejected.
  • No tearing/folding/tampering/crushing/making stray marks on the form are allowed.
  • Candidates should not tamper or write on the Bar Code given on the Application Form.
  • The address and contact number supplied by the candidate while filing the VITEEE 2013 Application Form should be correct as all the notifications and correspondences will be made with that address only.
  • Usage of address or contact number of any coaching institute is not allowed.
  • Completely filled VITEEE 2013 Application Forms are to be sent via Speed/Registered Post to Admissions Officer, VIT University, Vellore-632014 till 28th of February 2013.
  • Application Forms compromised in any sense or filled in any other language than ENGLISH, will be rejected.
  • VIT will not take any responsible for any event of loss/irregularity/delay in VITEEE 2013 Application Form in postage process.

The candidates are advised to preserve a photocopy of their completely filled VITEEE 2013 Application Form for future usage. It will bear the Registration Number which will be used for all the future references.
