About the Scholarships by ICCR
Under the scholarship scheme, the Bangladeshi nationals are offered 200 scholarships. Of these 200 scholarships, 100 of them are offered by the ICCR to the students to pursue under-graduate, post-graduate and PhD education which include Engineering courses at various institutions/leading universities.
The other 100 scholarships are offered under the agency work India scholarship (Bangladesh) scheme on behalf of the MEA to pursue under-graduate, post-graduate, PhD and post-doctoral scholarships (excluding engineering courses).
The applicants should follow the rules and check whether they satisfy the entire eligibility criteria before applying.
- The candidates are required to secure a minimum of 60 percentile in the qualifying examination. The PCB/PCM must have 60 percentile and 50 percentile in language of English for pursuing B.E/B.Pharmacy.
- The post graduate course in Medicine can be pursued at Indian Institute of Medical Science, New Delhi and Post-Graduate Institute of Medicine, Chandigarh. Selection is done through a written competitive examination. All applications to other medical institutions are not entertained.
- The candidates are required to produce an NOC (No-objection certificate) to appear for the competitive examination. They can consult and take guidance from the High commission Of India in this regard.
General Information to the candidates
The scholars aspiring to study post graduation in Engineering and Technology can contact the High commission of India directly. The students are supposed to taken up and passed the Graduate Aptitude test in Engineering (GATE). The International students who are desirous of pursuing post-graduation in Engineering and Technology should have passed GATE conducted every year by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) at its various centres in India.
The students are requires to submit six copies of duly filled in application form to the universities/institutions via High commission of India or through Embassy of India/Ministry of External affairs.
The Bangladeshi candidates can apply to the leading institutions for MCA, MBA, Hotel Management and other Professional courses. They can approach the concerned university directly for all the procedures and admission details. For pursuing a doctorate in any field, the Bangladeshi nationals are supposed to produce a NOC (no-objection certificate) from the government of India. The student can obtain this certificate from the Education wing, Embassy of India.
The news about these scholarships are generally announced during the third week of December at all leading newspapers and press releases. Students are advised to go through these details thoroughly before applying.
