Well, most of us know the what and when of “Exam”, but when it comes to “How” there is a huge gap. Any exam requires preparation unless it is a surprise test!. How much time and energy varies from individual to individual. But overall, you need to spread your focus on the following aspects.
1.Study the Right Info in the Right manner.
This means, maths has to be practised and not read. English has to be improved by communicating more and writing more.
Science has to be practised by doing the experiments and visiting your Labs often.
All theory matter needs to be understood, internalised and revised again and again.
That’s how you categorize and plan.
2. Everyday Revision
What is taught in School, needs a compulsory revision at home. Of Course it isn’t possible to study every subject every day, but working out a Study Timetable will prove very efficient.
Devote 2 hours a day for one subject and voila experience the magic. Your midterms, half yearlies and Annual Exams would become a cake walk and you would come out in flying colors.
3. Practise Maths, don’t study:
One area where every school student compromises is that they do not sit and practise the mathematical problems. Instead, they study and by heart it like theory subjects. This is a big flaw. Maths can never be mastered without practise.
If it bores you, use sketch pens to do problems and practise geometry with household utensils.
Parents can teach shapes to small children by making colorful clay models.
Teachers could use color papers and teach geometry, area, volume and surface area formulae.
All this makes Math interesting and easy to remember.
4.Concentrate in the Classroom:
This is the by far the best place to learn. Your heads, eyes, heart and soul should be completely focused on the class and on what’s been taught. Do it and feel the difference for yourself
5. “All work and No play”- A STRICT NO NO!
Devote time to sports and hobbies everyday. Catch up with your favourite TV Shows and Cartoons. Outdoor games can do wonders to you. They release stress and you feel fresh and ready to study once you get back home. Never sit with a book in hand and watch TV. This wouldn’t help you concentrate on either
So, Children and Parents ….All the Best!
