Nursing is considered to be one of the noblest careers in the world. It comprises of the largest group of dedicated people working in the healthcare sector. There are various nursing schools across the country which train students to become successful nurses in the future. In order to get into these nursing schools they need to qualify various exams. A list of various nursing exams is given below:
AIIMS Nursing Entrance Test – All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi, rated as the best medical college in the country, conducts tests for its B.Sc Nursing and B.Sc Nursing post basic course. The exams are generally held in June.
AFMC Nursing Entrance Test – Armed Forces medical College, one of the best medical colleges conducts its own entrance test for admission to its B.Sc Nursing courses.
JIPMER Nursing Entrance Test – Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Entrance and Research also conduct their own entrance exams.
Lady Hardings Medical College – Situated in Delhi, this college also conducts its own Nursing entrance exams.
BHU GNM Nursing Entrance Test – Banaras Hindu University conducts its own entrance test in Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery Entrance test for admission to its diploma level nursing course, i.e., GNM.
ASSO CET Exam – Association of Managements of Unaided Private Medical and Dental Colleges (AMUPMDC), Maharashtra, conducts an all India Entrance test for admission to its B.Sc Nursing Courses.
NU UGET – NITTE University Under-Graduate Entrance Test conducts entrance exams for admission to its various undergraduate programmes.
Dr. DY Patil University AIET – Dr. DY Patil University conducts its All India Entrance Test (AIET) for admission to its undergraduate nursing courses.
Apart from these, there are various other entrance exams conducted by the State medical boards for admission to their affiliated colleges.
Nursing Eligibility Criteria:
For admission to undergraduate nursing course, the candidate must have passed his 10+2 from a recognised board/university. The minimum percentage of marks required to get admission to these colleges depends on the university conducting the entrance examination. Also, the candidate must have Physics, Chemistry and Biology as their compulsory subjects at their 10+2. The candidate should be minimum 17 years of age for admission to the programme but there is no upper age limit.
