MTCET 2013 – Eligibility, Exam Pattern, Syllabus, Application and Dates

The applications for the admission test to Maharashtra Technology Common Entrance Test (MT-CET 2013) are open for admissions into first year of four year full time degree courses in Engineering / Technology and Pharmacy in the State of Maharashtra commencing in the academic year 2013-14. Every year Maharashtra Health Technology Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET), which was the common entrance test for the admissions to the engineering, pharmacy and health sciences courses across the state. MHTCET is replaced with MT-CET (Maharashtra Technology Common Entrance Test) from academic year 2013-14. The MT-CET 2013 examination is scheduled on Thursday, 16th May 2013. The examination centers shall be at all district headquarters of Maharashtra state.

MTCET 2013 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who have appeared for the qualifying examination i.e. HSC (Std. XII) or its equivalent examination during the academic year 2013 – 14 and whose results are not declared till the last date of submission of application form are eligible to appear for MT CET 2013, however for admission to first year of degree courses in Engineering / Technology, such candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria.

Even though Outside Maharashtra State (OMS) candidates are eligible to appear for the MT CET 2013, it is specifically made clear that such OMS candidates will not be able to participate in the Centralized Admission Process on the basis of score in MT CET 2013. These OMS candidates will be able to apply for the admissions against the Institute Level Seats ONLY in the Unaided Private Engineering Colleges/Institutes on the basis of score in MT CET 2013.

The facility of Constitutional Reservation is not available for the OMS candidates. Therefore all OMS candidates will be treated as OPEN / GENERAL category candidates in the entire admission process.

Eligibility criteria for first year of degree courses in Engineering / Technology:

Candidate should be an Indian National and should have passed the HSC (Std. XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
AND
Secured minimum 45% marks (minimum 40%marks in case of candidates of backward class categories and Person with Disability belonging only to Maharashtra State) in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics added together at HSC (Std. XII).
AND
Obtained a non – zero score in subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics added together at MT CET 2013.

Eligibility criteria for All India candidates (Paper – 1 of JEE (Mains) – 2013 qualified)

Candidate should be an Indian National and should have passed the HSC (Std. XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
AND
Secured minimum 45% marks for the general category and a minimum of 40% marks in case of candidates of backward class categories and Person with Disability belonging only to Maharashtra State in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics added together.
AND
Candidate should have a valid Paper-1 of JEE (Mains) Score (i.e. total score should be positive) for the year 2013 – 14.

MTCET 2013 Paper Pattern

MT-CET 2013 Entrance Exam will be conducted around 2nd week of May 2013. There will be 2 question papers each consisting of 100 marks. Details of these 2 papers are:

  1. Paper 1: Physics & Chemistry (50 marks each)

  2. Paper 2: Mathematics (100 marks)

Note:

  1. Engineering & Pharmacy candidates will have to give these two papers.

  2. MHT-Engg-CET entrance will consist of two papers of 1 and a half hours each:

  3. All the questions will be objective type with 4 options each.

  4. There will be no negative marking so the candidates are advised to attempt all the questions.

MTCET 2013 Exam Syllabus

Syllabus of the MT-CET 2013 exam will be same as HSC Examination of Board of Maharashtra.

MTCET 2013 Application procedure

Maharashtra State Candidates:

The MHT CET 2013 Application Submission Process for the students who are passing or have passed the HSC exam from will comprise of informing the School/Junior College for appearing in exam and submitting a cash payment of Rs. 700/- for the open category or Rs. 500/- for the other Backward Class or Scheduled Castes/ Tribes as form fee.

The next step will be performed by the School/Junior College in which they will prepare a single DD for all the students in name of:

Director,

Technical Education,

Mumbai

This DD should be payable at Mumbai. The next step involve submitting this DD at Notified College for the District and collect the Application Kits and Brochures for their students as per the schedule released on the official website.

Next ,the candidates who have submitted fee will be given application kits and brochures by the Junior College/School.

Application Submission Process for OMS

Students who have taken or are taking the HSC or equivalent exam from outside Maharashtra, will have to purchase the Brochure and Application Kit from the notified colleges.

The fee is Rs. 700/- (Open) and Rs. 500/- (Backward Class).

This fee is to be submitted via DD which must be payable at Mumbai and drawn in name of: Director,

Technical Education,

Mumbai.

After the candidates have obtained the brochure and application kits, they have to fill the Online Form which will be the next step.

To fill the online forms, the candidates have to logon to: www.dte.org.in/mtcet2013 – the official website.

The next step will involve clicking on “Apply Online” link and logging in using Application Kit Number & Password given in the Application kit.

The candidates should read the given instructions for form filling.

Fill the online form with the information required and uploading the photograph and signature.

Then the candidates should verify the filled form for any errors and confirm the online form by clicking the “Confirm Application Form” button.

The candidates have to generate two print outs of the filled form and get both of them signed by their parents.

Both of these copies are to be submitted at the School/Junior College by the candidates of Maharashtra State. However, the candidates who are stationed outside Maharashtra have to submit the print out copies to any of the notified college.

The Principal of Junior College/School of the candidates of Maharashtra will verify the print outs and by putting the seal and signature on the print outs and return one of them to the candidate as Receipt – cum – Identity – Card as the last step of MHT CET 2013 Application Submission Process.

The candidates outside Maharashtra will be allocated their exam center at the District Headquarter of notified college where they submitted their form print out.

The candidates outside Maharashtra have to submit their original SSC Identity Card and Mark Sheet at the Notified College while submission of form and attach the copies of both of these documents with the print outs.
