General Nursing, Midwifery Courses Admission-2012

Online applications from the eligible Male/Female candidates belonging to Andhra Pradesh State only are invited for admission into 1st year of three years General Nursing and Midwifery Course and six (6) months Internship for the year 2012-2013 batch which is being imparted in the nine (9) Govt Schools of Nursing attached to the following Govt Teaching and General Hospitals in the State

Osmania General Hospital, Hyderabad (60 seats); Gandhi Hospital, Secunderabad (60 seats); MGM Hospital, Warangal (60 seats); Govt General Hospital, Kakinada (36 seats); King George Hospital, Visakhapatnam (60 seats); Govt General Hospital, Guntur (60 seats); Govt General Hospital, Kurnool (60 seats); Govt General Hospital, Vijayawada (30 seats); Govt Area Hospital, Bodhan (25 seats)

Educational Qualifications: Candidates should have passed XII class or Intermediate or its equivalent examination preferable with Science subjects

Candidates who have passed ANM course of 18 months are eligible to admit into GNM course and they are exempted 6 months duration in GNM course subject to the condition that they shall under go the revised training programme as laid by the Indian Nursing Council New Delhi

The aggregate marks of minimum 45% in Intermediate or its equivalent examination are fixed by the Indian Nursing Council for admissions into Nursing Schools (for admissions into General Nursing and Midwifery Course.

The same is relaxed in favor of SC/ST/BC candidates and they shall be eligible if they passed, Intermediate or its equivalent examination

In respect of admission of general category candidates for the said course, for OC candidates, the condition of minimum 45% aggregate marks in intermediate or its equivalent examination should be followed as per the Indian Nursing Council regulations

After first phase of notification, counseling and wide publicity, if vacancies of general category seats are unfilled and the candidates of OC category are not available with 45% aggregate marks in Intermediate or in its equivalent examination, then only the unfilled vacancies in the general category shall be filled up with OC candidates with a pass in Intermediate or its equivalent examination

The existing Rule of Reservation as being implemented now shall be followed

Age: The minimum age shall be 16 years completed and enter 17th year as on the 1st July of the year and shall not have completed 35 years of age

The upper age limit for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/BC is relaxable by 3 years

Selection Process: Online GNM admission application is being introduced from this academic year 2012-2013

The detailed notification and online application is available in the DME official website

Every Superintendent will be provided with user ID and password for verification of on-line applications received by them

After selection of the candidates, they have to indicate the selected candidates through online

Only downloaded online filled in applications along with registration fee and relevant enclosures have to be accepted

Selections will be made purely on merit, on the basis of aggregate marks obtained by the candidates in the group subjects, excluding languages

In deciding merit candidates who qualify under compartmental system will be placed after candidates who passed in a single attempt

Incomplete applications or applications submitted without attested copies of relevant documents will be rejected

The SC/ST/BC candidates should furnish the prescribed caste certificate given at attachment at Annexure-I signed by the competent authority not below the rank of Mandal Revenue Officer

85% of seats in local area are reserved in favour of local candidates in relation to the local area and the remaining seats are unreserved as per Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions

Out of the seats available for admission 15% for SC, 6% for ST and 25% for BCs are reserved

Waiting list with ten (10) eligible candidates may be selected extra for waiting list for each Institution to avoid second time selection process

Application Form: Online admission application form is available in the Director of Medical Education, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad website and the same is available from 11th July, 2012 to 09th August, 2012

Follow the below given steps for submission of online GNM admission application

Step 1-Pay registration fee of Rs 100/- (Rs one hundred only) through a Govt challan crediting to the following Head of Account 0210-Medical & Public Health; 03-Medical Education Training & Research; MH 105-Allopathy; SH (81)-Other receipts; 001-Other receipts at State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of India at respective places

Step 2-Log on to DME Official website for online application form

Fill up all the mandatory fields (*) as per the instructions given in the online application and press submit button

Step 3-Download/print the filled in application form and submit the same with necessary enclosures as per the details noted in the application form

The downloaded applications should reach the Superintendents of the Hospitals concerned on or before 14th August, 2012 by 05.00 p.m.

Last date of submission of application form is 14th August, 2012, 05.00 p.m.
