CLAT 2013, Important Dates, Eligibility, Pattern of the CLAT Paper,

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is an all India entrance examination conducted on rotation by 14 National Law Universities (NLUs) for admissions to their under-graduate and post-graduate degree programmes (LL.B & LL.M).\
The CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) 2013 is tentatively scheduled to be held on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at 03.00 PM to 05.00 PM. The CLAT-2013 is being conducted by Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur.

The Undergraduate programmes offered by the National Law Universities are:

BBA LL.B
BSW LL.B
B.Com LL.B

The Postgraduate programmes offered by the National Law Universities are:
Two Year LL.M
National Law University, Odisha offers a conjoint LL.M-Ph.D programme.

Eligibility

Eligibility for Under-Graduate Courses

To be eligible to appear in CLAT-2013, a candidate should have obtained a Senior Secondary School/Intermediate (10+2) or its equivalent certificate from a recognised Board with not less than 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of SC and ST candidates) and should be below 20 years of age as on 1st July 2013 (22 years in case of SC and ST candidates).* Candidates who are appearing or have appeared in the 10+2 examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to appear in the test. However, such candidates are required to have passed the qualifying examination at the time of their admission and must be able to submit proofs in support of their claims.

Eligibility for Post-Graduate Courses

To be eligible for appearing in CLAT-2013, a candidate should have obtained a LL. B/B. L. Degree or an equivalent degree from a recognized University with not less than 55% marks in aggregate (50% in case of SC and  ST candidates).* The candidates who have passed the qualifying degree examination through supplementary/ compartment and repeat attempts are also eligible for appearing in the test and taking admission provided that such candidates will have to produce the proof of having passed the qualifying examination with fifty-five/fifty percent marks, as the case may be, on the date of their admission or within the time allowed by the respective universities.
The candidates who are appearing or have appeared in the qualifying degree examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to appear in the test.
How to Apply:

Printed OMR Application from along with CLAT 2013 Information Brochure will, be made available at the designated branches of the State Bank of India and in all the participating NLUs by paying Rs 3,000/- (Rs 2,500/- for SC/ST) in cash.
Application from and CLAT 2013 information brochure can also be procured through registered/Speed post by sending a requisition letter to

Pattern of the CLAT Paper for Admission to the Under-Graduate Programme

Note: There shall be a system of Negative Marking wherein 0.25 mark will be deducted for each of the wrong answers to multiple choice questions.
Tie-Breaking
In the event of equal marks scored by two or more candidates in the CLAT-2013, the tie will be broken by the following procedure and order:

  • Higher marks in the section of legal aptitude in CLAT-2013
  • Higher age
  • Computerized draw of lots
