Admission to B.Arch programme 2012 at BIT Patna through Institutional Counselling

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to 5 year (10 semesters) B.Arch programme of the Institute at BIT Campus, Patna, for the session 2012-13

Eligibility Criteria: Candidate must have passed in the final examination of 10+2 (Class XII), or its equivalent, referred to as the qualifying examination including Mathematics with 50% marks in aggregate

The candidate must have appeared in AIEEE-2012 and having following overall AIR in AIEEE 2012

General upto AIR 25,000 (in Architecture); SC/ST/PH all candidates who are eligible for central counseling

Candidates with foreign diplomas should see the EdCIL website for equivalence, and if required should obtain an equivalence certificate from the evaluation division of the AIU (website

In case any board awards grades instead of marks, the calculation of equivalent percentage of marks would be multiplied GPA/CGPA by 10 or based on the procedure prescribed by the Board

At the time of reporting for admission cum verification of documents, candidates will be required to produce originals of pass certificate of class 10, marksheets of class 10 and class 12, as well as caste or special category certificates in proper format signed by appropriate authority

Counselling (document verification and admission) for selected candidates will be held on dates mentioned

Candidate must have adequate proficiency in written and spoken English to cope with the programme as all instruction and examinations will be in English only

Age: Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 01st October, 1987 are eligible for admission

Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board (Class X, High School) certificate only will be taken as authentic

How to apply: Download and print the application form available on our Institute website, and send completed form with required enclosures and crossed demand draft for Rs 2,500/- (general) and Rs 1,500/- (SC/ST) candidates (non-refundable) in favour of Birla Institute of Technology, payable at Ranchi in a stout A4 size envelope by appropriate means well in advance of the due date (preferably by means of which e-tracking is possible) to the office of Dean, Admission and Academic Coordination, Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi-835215 positively by the due date

Incomplete applications or applications received without all required enclosure are liable to be rejected

Selection Procedure: Provisional selection will be on the basis of AIR in AIEEE 2012, provided that candidates satisfy the eligibility criteria of age and marks in class 12/equivalent qualifying examination

Provisional selection list will be notified by 29th July, 2012, 07.00 p.m. only on website and Notice Boards at Mesra and no separate intimations will be sent to candidates

List of enclosures to be submitted along with the completed application form; Crossed demand draft for Rs 2,500/- (General) and Rs 1,500/- (SC/ST) candidates (non-refundable) in favour of Birla Institute of Technology, payable at Ranchi (write your Name, telephone number and B.Arch 2012 on the back of the demand draft); A set of photocopies of the same (write your name and B.Arch-2012 on the back of each of the photocopies), pass certificate of class 10, marksheet of class 10, marksheet of class 12/Intermediate or equivalent, admit card of AIEEE 2012, score card of AIEEE 2012, caste certificate (if applicable), which should be in proper format and signed by appropriate authority of rank not less than SDO), Physically Handicapped category certificate (if applicable) in proper format from appropriate authority (civil Surgeon), one recent colour photograph (same as paste on the form) and attached by clip (write your Name, Form No and BArch-2012 on the back of the photo), photo identification (Driving license, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, School/ College ID are acceptable)

Provisionally selected candidates will be required to submit all these original documents at the time of admission (except Photo ID)

Candidates must visit website occasionally for updates/ any other matters related to admission procedures
