Ayush Scholarships to study Indian Traditional Medicine Systems such as Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha & Homeopathy (available for students from all Countries, though priority is given to those from BIMSTEC Countries)
The Indian Council of Cultural Relations, fondly known as ICCR is an apex body of the Government of India. The body or the association mainly focuses on strengthening and maintaining the cultural relations with the neighbouring countries and foster friendly and amiable relationships with them. This is a great initiative by the government of India towards a step to develop India’s relations with other neighbouring countries.
The ICCR scholarships are world famous today, with around 3000 students enjoying these scholarships every year.
The AYUSH scholarship is from the Department of Ayush, Ministry of Family and Health, Government of India. These scholarships are being funded by the ICCR. The ICCR has its main objective to provide scholarships to the meritorious and desirous students who wish to pursue high quality education in top Indian universities. The ICCR scholarships are thus well known to the neighbouring countries.
The ICCR of the Government of India is inviting applications from the students of BIMSTEC countries for the Ayush scholarship for the forthcoming academic year 2014-15 desirous of pursuing under-graduate, post-graduate and the PhD studies in Ayurveda, Unani, Yoga, Siddha and Homeopathy. Under this scholarship scheme, the ICCR is providing around 50 Ayush scholarship slots to the students from BIMSTEC countries to pursue the traditional Indian medicine system.
The BIMSTEC countries covered under the above mentioned scholarship are Thailand, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Myanmar. The students from these countries can only apply for the above mentioned scholarship.
The scholarship amount covers the entire tuition fee for the course taken. The scholarship also provides sustenance allowance with additional amount of annual grants for books and stationery involved for the course’s entire duration.
Number of Scholarships
The number of Ayush scholarships awarded this year is around 50 slots. Also, the students are offered the scholarships for the entire duration of the course taken. The meritorious students are encouraged to apply for the above scholarships while applying for their under-graduate, post-graduate and the PhD studies.
How to Apply
The interested and meritorious candidates may send in their full Bio-Data in the format prescribed by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE). The Bio-data should also be supported with documents of certificates and send in to the Ministry of Higher Education on or before 8th July, 2014.
