AYUSH Scholarships to study Indian Traditional Medicine Systems (for Malaysian Nationals)

The Indian Council for Cultural relations fondly known as ICCR is an Indian autonomous body of the Government of India founded by the first education minister of Independent India, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. The ICCR’s main activity involves the strengthening the relationships and external affairs with the neighbouring countries.

The ICCR has been doing great service for the country’s tie ups with the other nations. One of the major activities of the ICCR is that it offers scholarships to the various students of these neighbouring nations and countries. Such scholarships have benefitted many of the students from these neighbouring countries who are desirous of pursuing various disciplines and artistic courses in Indian world class Universities. The scholarship schemes are available in the official website of the Indian Council of Cultural relations, ICCR, Government of India.

Around 3300 plus scholarships are being given to the students very year. The ICCR scholarship schemes are around 135 which assist several students from various disciplines to pursue world class education and research in top ranking and leading universities.

Scholarship details

The ICCR along with the High Commission has announced Ayush schiolarships to study Indian Traditional Medicine Systems such as Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, Yoga and Homeopathy for the various neighbouring countries.

The Ayush scholarship for Malaysian students is provided to pursue the Traditional Medicine Systems such as Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, Yoga and Homeopathy for the academic year 2014-15. The scholarships awarded are around twenty (20) divided for the various schemes.

  1. The Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) can have around 11 seats.
  2. The Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Sciences (BSMS) can have around 5 seats.
  3. The Bachelor of Unani Medicine and surgery (BUMS) can have around 2 seats.
  4. The Bachelor of Homeopathy Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) can have around 2 seats.

Scholarship Eligibility of Criteria

The eligibility of the above scholarship is given below.

  1. The basic eligibility of the scholarship is to be satisfied by the candidate.
  2. The candidate should be well versed in English. Should be able to read, write and speak quite fluently.
  3. Should not have any serious health issues.

The qualifying levels of the examination should have the following subjects i.e. Physics, chemistry, Biology and English with minimum 50% of the marks in every subject.

Scholarship fee

The scholarship fee amount covers the tuition fee, Living allowance, House rent allowance, contingent grant, and medical benefits for the student.
