University of Liverpool Scholarships for Electrical Engineering and Electronics

ARM Ltd and the Liverpool University offer fabulous scholarships for around two students from India to study Master’s degree in microelectronics at the Liverpool University. The candidates are expected to take up project work as interns that will be paid at ARM R&D in the UK.  This is the successful ninth year of scholarship.

Value of scholarship

  • The selected candidates get a grant of 6200 pounds.
  • The candidate also receives an internship for 4 months with ARM Research & Development in Cambridge UK. The candidate also gets a graduate intern level salary as stipend.
  • The candidate also gets an award named Indian Regional Award from the Liverpool University which is worth a reduction in tuition fee of 1000 pounds.
  • By default, the scholarship package covers the tuition fees of the course.

CSIR UGC Test for Junior Research Fellowship

CSIR conducts CSIR-UGC Test every year to determine the eligible Indian candidates for Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) NET. This is also used to assess the eligibility for appointing Lecturers (NET) as the faculty of Science & Technology.

About the scholarship

  • The final result consists of two individual merit lists.
  • One list has the candidates for the  Junior Research Fellowship (JRF – NET) awards and the other has those candidates who qualifying the Eligibility Test for Lectureship (NET)
  • The lists will be made on the basis of their performance in the above Test.
  • The candidates who are qualifying for JRF (NET) will by default also get eligible for the Lectureship (NET).
  • The candidates who are eligible for Lectureship will by default get eligible for appointment as Lecturers and for JRF in a Project.
  • However if this is the case, the candidates will not be allowed for Regular JRF-NET Fellowship.
  • The candidates can take up a Ph.D. program either with or without any fellowship.
  • The candidates who are qualifying for the JRF (NET) award will receive the fellowship either from one of CSIR and UGC.
  • This is as per their assignment or from other Schemes
  • The candidates who are found eligible for Junior Research Fellowship under the UGC scheme will be assessed by UGC rules/regulations.

University Grants Commission – Junior Research Fellowship in Engineering & Technology was established to support the candidates who are willing to pursue PhD through their research. About the fellowship

The details about the fellowship are given below.

  • Around 50 fellowships are awarded every year.
  • The application form in available online and comes through various public modes through newspapers and others.
  • The duration of the fellowship is two years.
  • If the candidate’s performance is excellent and deserves an extension, then the candidate is given an extension of maximum of three years.
  • In case the candidate performs really well in the extension too, he/she will be given an extension of two more years.
  • The maximum extension possible is 5 years.
  • The certificate will be awarded to the candidate whenever the candidate completes the fellowship.
  • The value of the scholarship is given below.
    • The fellowship stipend is 14000 per month for the first two years and 16000 for the rest of the years.

Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Postgraduate Scholarships for Indian Students
